                  A Hell of Boredom

Somewhere I have read that boredom is the torment of hell that Dante forgot.–Albert Speer, Spandau: The Secret Diaries
Some people claim never to have been bored. They lie. One cannot be human without at some time or other having known boredom. Even animals know boredom, we are told, though they are deprived of the ability to complain directly about it. Some of us are more afflicted with boredom than others. Psychologists make the distinction between ordinary and pathological boredom; the latter doesn’t cause serious mental problems but is associated with them.

Another distinction is that between situational boredom and existential boredom. Situational boredom is caused by the temporary tedium everyone at one time or another encounters: the dull sermon, the longueur-laden novel, the pompous gent extolling his prowess at the used-tire business. Existential boredom is thought to be the result of existence itself, caused by modern culture and therefore inescapable. Boredom even has some class standing, and was once felt to be an aristocratic attribute.

I will add that in writing the piece I read a bit of existential philosophy that touched on the subject. And doing so made boredom seem a lot less amusing to me and on some level, really, deeply depressing. The notion, proposed by some (Pascal, maybe? I can’t recall) that life is a series of distractions to avoid confronting our existential state was a real downer (even if I don’t necessarily agree). I hadn’t expected that little philosophical journey at all. But I suppose I’m the wiser for it.

A natural response to persistent boredom is to try to make it go away. The next time you’re bored, stroll over to the psychology section of your library. Or google “boredom cure.” You’ll find a number of helpful suggestions. For example, you could go to a party, or find a hobby. You could exercise, or make some new friends. Getting a job tends to help. Studies show the best thing to do is to attain flow.

Should Boys and Girls Go To Separate Schools?

I believe that boys and girls can get a lot of benefits from going to co-educational schools because they get to share experiences being together that they would miss out on, if they went to a separate schools.
These experiences are important because when school students get older and study or work, they will be mixing with adults of both genders, young and old. They will then need good communication and co-operation skills to help them professionally and socially in these new places. Co-educational schools are the best places to develop understanding between boys and girls, before they become young adults.
Now some people believe that boys and girls can distract each other a lot if they go to the same school, but many people, including teachers, believe that boys-only and girls-only classes can be just as distracting.
I also don’t think separate schools for girls-only ad boys-only are better at teaching, or get better marks for the students.

Finally, girls and boys have different strengths and different interests in various subjects. If boys and girls are studying together then they have the best opportunity to introduce their different experiences and views to each other. For example, if a girl knows a lot about women’s rights and a boy knows many things about male sports, then they can teach each other and learn from each other in a natural environment every school day. This again helps prepare both the boys and girls to understand each other and enjoy each other’s interests, well before they mix with each other at university or work.
In conclusion, if children go to co-educational schools, they would be able to share important knowledge and rich experiences with each other, which is a very important thing to do at any stage of your life

WHAT MAKES A HAPPY LIFE

Happiness is the most important feeling that people can feel. One essential standard for living is being able to be happy. Happiness can be found in many different forms. Positive people are happy people. No matter what type of hardships they have to endure, they try to overcome and believe the day they hope. They know what happiness is and try to forget something negative. There are three effects that make me happy which are having energy, having money and having good health

The first effect of being happy is having energy. There are many ways of having energy. Exercise is one of the ways that can gain energy. Exercise can help prevent excess weight gain or help maintain weight loss. When I engage in physical activity, I burn calories. As a result of burning calories and lose Wight, my body will lean and fit. So this is one of the effects that usually make me more confidantes, improve my self esteem and make me happy. In addition, having energy makes me live longer. For instance, exercise and have energy make my healthy, and less likely to get diseases. So, this is one of the important reasons that make me happy. Furthermore, Do an actual workout is also one of the effects that makes me happy. For example, physical activities such as ride a bicycle or walk for 30 minutes stimulates that brain that may leave me feeling happier and more relaxed.

The second effect of being happy is having money. Having money allows me to buy what I want and need without thinking of the price. Usually when gets what I want, I feel a great feeling which is a feeling of happiness. As well, when I have money, I can travel anywhere I want at any time I want. Travelling actually refresh my mind, relax me, and makes me blessed and happy. Moreover, when I have money, I will be able to help poor people. Poor people are living in a difficult situation; therefore, I have to support them by money to be satisfy and happy. For example, when I help a poor family for buying them the stuff they need, they will be overwhelmed with happiness. This will makes me feel the same happiness they felt. For these reasons I think that having money is one of the effects that make me happy.

Last, having good health makes me happy. the most fundamental part of having a happy life is your health. Being healthy allows me to work and make money, and have all of the things I want. On the other hand, when I am not so healthy, I cannot accomplish or achieve my common goals; consequently, I become angry and sad. Also, when my health not allows me from doing things that I want to do, I lose my potential and become a liability to my family members. It becomes a suffering in my whole life. My health is everything because having good health enables me to perform the daily functions of my life and makes me happier. For example, for my normal life it allows me to be able to go to university, and make friendships. Also, good health means being able to hang out with friends, and have fun. Good health allows me to enjoy a happy life.

The drumbeat – A psychological analysis

Hunza local dance.
“One good thing about music is, when it hits you, you feel no pain” Bob Marley
Music remained a major source to express ones inner feelings; through instruments, composition, performance, art, fine art, sounds or silence. It has never been a confused or controversial phenomenon as its in today’s world, especially among religious and scientific school of thought.
The sounds of drumbeat, guitar strings, flute, violin, harmonium etc. are considered to be musical instruments and source of music, which I feel is a partial approach. Confining music with few instruments and practice on specific occasions or area has made it controversial, I believe.
Elaborating the real soul, music exists everywhere in any shape. One can feel the joy of bird’s chirping, water flows, wind blowing, whistle, traditional, or modern instruments.
The religious school of thought has been using music and musical instruments as a source to preach and convey religious messages. Unfortunately, religiosity has played major part in restricting music, especially to the general mass; whether it’s Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism etc., every religion has an influence, direct or indirect. The denial approach from religious world has done great damage to music.
Despite every restriction, music has found its way to reach everyone’s heart and mind. Even the stern religiosity couldn't stop its access among religious circles.
Undeniably it has been echoing in the high mountains of Goal valley and people of the area have been practicing music for so long, using various traditional instruments, compositions, or sounds.
It is believed that in good old day’s people of the area frequently used music and its instruments to cheer up or to celebrate any blissful occasion. Nowadays music has been restricted to wedding ceremonies, cultural events or any celebration of historical events/days having limited delineation in mind.

Unnoticeable the religious social and cultural constraints have done great damage to the people, especially to the youth of the area. Therefore, youth of the area have been looking for alternatives to celebrate moments of joy and happiness, which sometimes are unhealthy or unethical.
As some bad experiences surfaced during wedding ceremonies or cultural shows, but the drumbeat continues to slog people. One can still witness the hunger for dance moves or singing songs, apart from social or age restrictions. A layman even wants to express his inner within limited time; having in mind the notion that he will not get a second chance in the longer run, such behavior turns brutal sometimes.
Therefore frequent promotion of music at every stage or in any shape will help to normalize human behaviours in the longer run.

The Impact of Technology on Daily life

We know that technology plays an important role in fulfilling our daily needs. Basically, if we look around us, technology can be seen everywhere from a small pen to an air plane. From a day until late night technology is associated with our lives. A revolution of technology has made human life much easier. We can do our tasks much faster and in a much easier way, saving time.

No one can imagine a life without technology. Imagine if airplane had not been invented, then travelling from one country to other countries would take a long time. In the medical field, many people’s life has been saved and cured with technology. Without technology, our life would have been helpless and would have never been this better. So technology has made our life better in many ways.

In our daily life, technology serves us in many different ways to help us do our activities for our needs. A television, for example, is the best entertainment and information medium. An air plane which helps in covering huge distances in a short time, cell phones that not just help us talk to another person but also its function is as a device to take pictures and watch video, and we can even use them to browse in the Internet. All of them show us how important technology is in our daily life.

Currently, the most popular topic is the internet. Talking about the Internet makes me remember what the inventor of Google said. He said “The Internet will take over the Wall Street”. It is true because over 2 billion of people in this universe are using the Internet. The number of websites is so amazing.

There are so many websites that provide kinds of knowledge, experience, entertainment and business. Now it is so easy for us to share with each other through the internet. We can access worldwide news using the Internet. All of what we want to know and all we need are provided by the internet.
